Seagull’s Meet-up Write-up

- Trying to explain what Tumblr is to barflies who aren’t even aware of the existence of Keyboard Cat is futile.
- But they may enter the fold. TIME WILL TELL.
- Hoarr will never be called by his real name.
- Being called Seagull is thrilling.
- If I was ten years younger, 1) I would be incredibly annoying and 2) I’d have totally hit on Gompr. He’s a cutie! And now I’ve embarrassed him. Hey, he got sauced up real good, he can’t complain!
- The rain, so rare these days, brought a welcome change in climate.
- I may have scared Jason by freaking out when he announced he saw Taylor Hanson’s new band at SXSW, SAID HE LIKED IT, AND HAD PICS ON HIS IPHONE OMGOMGOMGOMG. After a few beers, …or none… it’s impossible to control my insane crush on that man, add in my natural flamboyance and… yeah. He shuffled to the other side of the table and left soon after.
- My roommate Andy was there for a different gathering, so that was a nice crossover. And Amy, a friend who is new to Tumblr, invited some of our irl biker peeps. Yay party time at Crown!
- It’s refreshing to sit down with a bunch of people and talk about that thing you do all day that no one else you know will ever understand. All the memes, the quirks, the bugs that need fixing, the people, the gossip. Our discussion even went to blog posts we’ve written in the past. No one else in our worlds wants to hear about that because *hurr hurr* that’s nerdy. But the Tumblr folks, well, it’s what we have in common!
- Mills spent an inordinate amount of time in the bathroom.
- Oh, and it was a blast. We have to do these things more often.
