Switchblade Comb - Jack-O and The Tennessee Tearjerkers
This song. There is so much to like about it.
Last Cigarette - Bad Sports
Not going to ACL? That’s no reason to sit at home and cry yourself to sleep like you usually do. Bad Sports are playing Beerland tonight. You’re welcome.
Feathers - Buxton
I think we can all agree that Houston has a terrible* music scene. It’s not that there aren’t good bands. I’m not sure what it is, but it’s a weird music town. Marc, tell me I’m wrong You’re there, and I’m just an outsider looking in.
But that’s not what we are here to talk about today. Give this track a listen. Buxton is from Houston, and one day Cactus Music might decide to send me the 7” of this that I ordered from them weeks ago. They are worth seeing live, and will be in Austin in late September.
Also, if you’re looking for more Houston music I would recommend Roky Moon & Bolt. They are straight up glam rock, and sound better in person than the recordings they have up.
*That’s probably hyperbole
La Pingorocha y la Diva Rockera - Dávila 666
Garage rock from a Puerto Rican. You’re welcome.
Gary Vaynerchuck on College. . .
- Person in highschool: What college are you going to?
- Gary V: F*** you! I'll Kill you!
“ To those leaders around the globe who seek to sow conflict, or blame their society’s ills on the West - know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy. To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history; but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist.”
